Diane Alden
Diane has been writing for Newsmax since 1999. A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in political science and economics, she is also the mother of three grown children and companion of a Silkie Terrier, Addie. A Vietnam era Navy wife, Diane did graduate work in international economics, worldwide political movements, military history and strategy, the Middle East and the Far East as well as South American history. In addition to publishing serious pieces on world events, economics, history and politics, she has also won an award for her poetry and had several short stories published. Currently her fiction work includes a modern western that is a work in progress.
Before Newsmax Diane worked for a think tank/policy institute as a researcher/policy analyst and contributing editor. Her articles appeared in the Las Vegas Review and Nevada Journal. In the mid-90s, Diane did several years of radio in Georgia.
Over the last 8 years she has been on countless local, national and international radio shows including Al Rantel, Sean Hannity, George Putnam, the Family News Network, Don Feder, Rusty Humphries, James Hirson, Mike Fleming, Barbara Simpson, Jane Chastain, Mike Gallagher, and Michael Reagan.
Since 2001 she has been a weekly guest commentator with Radio Talk 100 host, Marc Bernier. Her insightful policy analysis and political and social observations have been included on many national policy related websites including the Center for Security Policy Analysis and US Naval War College Review. She has expertise in military and terrorism areas as well as area studies, environmental extremism, immigration and trade, the corporate impact on politics and policy, and American foundation funding of the leftist agenda.
She spends part of the year in Georgia and part in Minnesota. At the moment Diane is working on non fiction study of elite influence on economic, social and political policy and life in the United States post-World War II. The working title is "A New Day in Babylon: How the Elite Changed the United States and Why."
Diane's heroes include Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II, Joan of Arc, St. Padre Pio, Lou Dobbs, the Minutemen, Phyllis Schlafly, Helen Chenoweth-Hage, Barbara Cubin, George Putnam, Marc Bernier, Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, Jeff Sessions, Mark Kirkorian, Frank Gaffney, Steve Farrell, Peter Brimelow, William Hawkins, her dad Neil Alden, as well as the unsung heroes who have blogged and supported real conservatism and American interests as opposed to the partisan or corporate variety. Most particularly her heroes include the men and women of the Armed Forces of the United States who lay it on the line every single day.
