Equifax MatchMaker conducted a study of NewsMax Magazine’ subscribers and their car purchasing / leasing activities. The MatchMaker study detailed 2004 model year car and truck purchases / leases. The study was completed in March 2005
New Car Purchases
NewsMax readers purchase at the rate of 3.5% per year
New Truck Purchases, including SUVs
NewsMax readers purchase at the rate of 4.8% per year
Key Findings
  Readers are 1.2 times more likely to buy a European car compared to the general U.S. population
  When buying an Asian import, readers are 2 times more likely to buy a Lexus
  Among domestic cars, readers are 2 times more likely to buy a Cadillac, 1.4 times more likely to buy a Buick, and 1.2 times more likely to buy a Chrysler compared to the general population
  When purchasing European imports, readers are 1.4 times more likely to buy a Mercedes Benz and 1.2 times more likely to buy a BMW
 
  Readers are 1.2 times more likely to buy a car in the $25,000 - $34,999 range.
  Readers are 2 times more likely to purchase a car in the $35,00 - $49,999 range, and 2 times more likely to purchase a car for $50,000 or more compared to the rest of the U.S. population.
  More than 50% of NewsMax readers purchase cars that are mid luxury, basic luxury, and prestige luxury.
  When purchasing trucks, including SUVs, readers are 2 times more likely to purchase Cadillac, 1.5 times more likely to purchase Chrysler, and 1.4 times as likely to purchase Lexus.
Leasing
  The study also discovered that when leasing cars, readers are 29% more likely to lease a new car and 14% more likely to lease a new truck than average demographics in the U.S.
  When leasing vehicles, NewsMax readers are 2.25% more likely to lease a Jaguar and 1.58% more likely to lease a Mercedes Benz.
