RNC Chairman: Hillary Clinton More Liberal Than Bill

The chairman of the Republican National Committee says Senator Hillary Clinton would be a more liberal president than her husband.

RNC chairman Mike Duncan told The Associated Press in an interview at Little Rock today that people who think that Hillary Clinton is Bill Clinton are totally wrong. He said Hillary Clinton is far more liberal and calculating than Bill Clinton, and said you could tell that from the votes she has cast as a U.S. senator from New York.

Duncan made the remarks as he prepared to speak before a Republican Party of Arkansas dinner.

He said Republicans can claim credit for the balanced budgets and welfare reforms that were enacted during Bill Clinton's years in the White House, because Republicans controlled Congress after 1994.
