During a campaign swing in California, Rudy Giuliani said that as president he would govern much the same way as another politician the locals are familiar with – Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
"I governed very much like your governor does,” Giuliani said of his tenure as New York City mayor from 1994 to 2001. "I got results and I want people to look at that and say that’s the way I would govern as president of the United States. I would get results.”
Giuliani attended a fundraising luncheon on Thursday at the same Sacramento hotel that serves as Schwarzenegger’s residence in the state capital, but he did not meet with the governor, the New York Sun reported.
Schwarzenegger hasn’t endorsed any presidential candidate. Asked if he would like such an endorsement, Giuliani replied: "Well, of course.”

Giuliani also praised Thursday’s Senate vote effectively killing President Bush’s immigration reform bill.
"In every respect, it would have made things worse,” he said.
He added in a perceived swipe at Bush that the president has "a lot of the authority” he needs to secure U.S. borders. "He should go about doing that.”
