Field Poll: Giuliani Leads McCain in California

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani leads Sen. John McCain among California Republican primary voters, according to a Field Poll released Wednesday.

Giuliani tops the field of 2008 Republican presidential candidates with the support of 34 percent of likely voters. McCain has 24 percent. No other Republican contender has more than single digit support, according to the nonpartisan Field Poll.

The telephone survey of 315 Republicans likely to vote in California's Feb. 5 primary has a sampling error of plus or minus 5.8 percentage points. It was conducted from March 21 to 31.
