Murdoch: ‘Monolithic Attack’ on Bush

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch said most of the American media are mounting a "monolithic attack” on President Bush every day.

Speaking at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles, a gathering of business leaders, Murdoch said: "I’m a supporter of President Bush, but I do believe he’s a bad – or inadequate – communicator.”

Murdoch, whose media empire includes the Fox News Channel and the New York Post, motioned to Paul Gigot, editorial page editor of the Wall Street Journal, and said: "Apart from your newspaper and mine, there’s a sort of monolithic attack on him every day of the year.

"The atmosphere is absolutely toxic,” he said of America’s political and media partisanship. "You can’t really expect anything to be achieved in the next 18 months and it’s a very serious, sad problem for this country.”

The Hollywood Reporter also disclosed that Murdoch said "alleged climate changes” are far more manageable than the threat of Islamic terror, which will increase significantly if Iran develops nuclear weapons.
