Playboy's Hugh Hefner Backs Hillary

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner has joined the celebrities who are supporting Sen. Hillary Clinton in the 2008 presidential race – he contributed $2,300, the maximum allowed, to her campaign.

But Sen. Barack Obama is grabbing most of the big names in Hollywood, according to The Hill newspaper.

Hefner has contributed heavily to Democrats over the years. His favorite in Washington is California Rep. Loretta Sanchez, who has reportedly received $13,200 in contributions from Hefner since 1996.

Sanchez sparked controversy in 2000 when she planned to hold a fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills.

Michael Douglas has contributed to the campaigns of Chris Dodd and Bill Richardson, and Richardson has also received a donation from Rosie O’Donnell.
