The Chicago Sun-Times reports that police are investigating a Chinese student as the perpetrator of the worst shooting massacre in U.S. history.
The paper said police have identified a 24-year-old man who "arrived in San Francisco on United Airlines on Aug. 7 on a visa issued in Shanghai."
So far authorities have not made any terrorist link with the man.
More than 2000 foreign students attend Virginia Tech, and about half of those come from China and India.

A source told the Sun-Times that several bomb threats made to the school last week may have been part of an effort by the man to "to test the campus’ security response, the source said."
The paper's source also indicated the killer had two pistols and significant ammunition.
