An Internet poll sponsored by NewsMax.com reveals that a majority of Americans rate Katie Couric’s first-night performance as "CBS Evening News” anchor as "Bad” or "Just OK” — and only 12 percent think it was "Good.”
And in an ominous portent for CBS — which is hoping Couric can lift its nightly news out of the third-place spot among the networks — an even larger majority said they would watch Couric less rather than more in the future.
More than 114,000 people have taken part in NewsMax’s online poll about Couric as the new CBS anchor. NewsMax will provide the results to major media and share them with radio talk-show hosts across the country.
