Fidel Castro's Daughter Doubts His Return to Power

Fidel Castro's estranged daughter said although the dictator was ill, "he never lost control."

Alina Fernandez said she doubts her father will ever fully return to power in Cuba after handing over control to his brother Raul in July to undergo surgery for intestinal bleeding. She said her uncle may lack her father's charisma, but he's not a person to be underestimated.

Fernandez made the comments to reporters before addressing a packed crowd at Christopher Newport University in Virginia. Fernandez had sporadic contact with her father until she left Cuba disguised as a Spanish tourist in 1993.

She hosts a radio program out of Miami and in August CNN hired her to provide commentary on Cuban issues.
