Ex-Presidents Bush, Clinton to Receive Liberty Medal
The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia is honoring Former Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton with the 2006 Liberty Medal.
The one-time commanders in chief are being recognized for putting politics aside to help raise more than $1 billion for disaster relief.
Bush and Clinton are scheduled to accept the medal and its accompanying $100,000 prize in October at the National Constitution Center.
The medal has been awarded annually since 1989, previously by Philadelphia regional civic groups and this year by the Constitution Center.
Republican Bush and Democrat Clinton joined forces last year to aid Gulf Coast victims of Hurricane Katrina through the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund.
