Connie Chung ended her and husband Maury Povich’s short-lived MSNBC talk show "Weekends with Maury & Connie” by croaking out an ear-crunching, off-key version of "Thanks for the Memories.”
The Saturday night stunt had Chung perched on the edge of a white grand piano, wearing a full-length evening gown.
And she changed the words of the familiar Bob Hope classic to put down her former co-anchor Dan Rather, her husband and cable TV.
The lyrics included:
"We came to do a show for very little dough
By little, I mean I could make more working on Skid Row
That’s cable TV . . .
"Thanks for the memories
The thing I love the most
About hubby as co-host
Is all those other anchors were as dull as melba toast
The sparks really flew.”

Chung nearly fell as she dismounted the piano, then collapsed on the floor of the studio as the camera faded out.
