One day after a report surfaced that an e-mail sent by Keith Olbermann attacked his MSNBC colleague Rita Cosby, a new report reveals that the caustic liberal sent other e-mails casting him in an even more embarrassing light.
Lloyd Grove reveals in Thursday’s New York Daily News that Olbermann was forced to apologize after his e-mails found their way to Grove’s inbox and exposed the host of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" as insulting and frequently obscene in responding to viewers who taunted him.
Two viewers told Grove that Olbermann responded to their charge that al-Qaida terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was his "hero" by telling them: "Hey, save the oxygen for somebody whose brain can use it. Kill yourself."
Grove disclosed: "After I forwarded that and other e-mails to an MSNBC exec, Olbermann wrote: ‘I apologize to anyone who might take offense at my part of this correspondence. It goes without saying that I should not have replied to these abusive and hateful e-mails, but I wonder how many of us could receive literally hundreds of them questioning our patriotism, religion and ethnic origin, without succumbing to the natural wish to confront such hate.’"

Grove cited what he called some other examples of Olbermann "confronting hate":
"Given how far you are from knowing your (expletive) from your elbow about my industry, you couldn't be stupider, wronger, or dumber."
"Go (expletive) your mother."
"You 'Americans' still watching that evil (expletive) O'Reilly?"
Wrote Grove: "Apparently, they are. Fox News' Bill O'Reilly draws six times the viewership of his 8 p.m. weekday rival."
As NewsMax reported on Wednesday, Olbermann said in an e-mail that Rita Cosby is "dumber than a suitcase of rocks.”
NewsMax also reported in March that Olbermann had declared war on O’Reilly, attacking him in a special feature of his show called "The Worst Person in the World.”
Not surprisingly, "ratings king O’Reilly has won the ‘Worst Person’ title 48 times,” NewsMax disclosed at the time, adding that Olbermann even has his producers tape O’Reilly’s nationally syndicated radio show looking for gaffes to play on "Countdown.”
