Keith Olbermann Trashes Colleague Rita Cosby

Viewers who think MSNBC "Countdown" host Keith Olbermann is a bit of a liberal snob got some more ammunition on Wednesday.

It seems the Bush-bashing commentator doesn't think very highly of his new colleague, Rita Cosby, telling a viewer via email: "Rita's nice, but dumber than a suitcase of rocks."

The email, obtained by the New York Daily News, was written months ago - around the time Cosby had decided to move from the Fox News Channel, where "The O'Reilly Factor" regularly trounces "Countdown" in the ratings.

Cosby, whose journalistic credits dwarf Olbermann's, was not amused by her colleague's attack. "Keith got it wrong," she told the News. "I'm not that nice."

  The paper says that Olbermann was equally disdainful towards former MSNBC chief Rick Kaplan. He used the same viewer email to sarcastically refer to Kaplan as "the producer of that special last night — now known as the Kanye West Show."

Olbermann was alluding to the post-Hurricane Katrina broadcast where West complained: "George Bush doesn't care about black people."
