An Ohio congressional candidate who didn't get enough valid signatures to get on the May second primary ballot is getting some help from the best-known Democrat of them all - Bill Clinton.
State Senator Charlie Wilson is running a write-in campaign for the US House seat being vacated by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ted Strickland.
He started sending automated calls by the former president Tuesday.
At the same time, Republicans have hit the airwaves with messages that give one of Wilson's lesser-known, poorly funded Democratic opponents more face time than ever before, drawing cries of meddling.

In a taped message to likely Democratic voters in the district, Clinton asks listeners to volunteer for Wilson's campaign and write in his name at the polls.
