Online Poll: 'No' to Katie Couric at CBS

An Internet poll sponsored by NewsMax.com reveals that Americans by an overwhelming margin oppose Katie Couric’s appointment as the new anchor of "The CBS Evening News.”

More than 85,000 people have taken part in the poll so far, and more than nine out of 10 say they won’t watch CBS’s news report with Katie Couric.

A large majority of respondents also believe Couric is unqualified for the job – and almost 90 percent say she is biased as a journalist.

Asked if they would prefer cable news stars Bill O’Reilly or Lou Dobbs as the CBS Evening News anchor, readers overwhelming said yes – with 59 percent preferring O’Reilly and 32 percent picking Dobbs. Only 9 percent said they wanted Couric when offered the three choices.

Biased: 89%

4) Do you plan on watching CBS News with Katie Couric?
Yes: 8%
No: 92%

5) Of the three, who would you prefer as CBS News anchor?
Katie Couric: 9%
Bill O’Reilly: 59%
Lou Dobbs: 32%
