Sen. Clinton: Bush Squandered Surplus

Hillary Clinton left no doubt she’s already campaigning for the White House in 2008 when she complained to a group of Korean-Americans that President Bush was responsible for the nation’s ballooning debt.

Speaking at a fund-raiser in upstate New York, the Democratic senator touted the budget surpluses accrued while her husband Bill was president, and said they had been completely squandered by the current administration.

She charged that Bush had plunged the U.S. into such great debt that the nation had no choice but to borrow more from Korea, China and Japan, Korea’s Chosun Ilbo National Daily reports.

Clinton also vowed to expand legal immigration but intensify a crackdown on illegal immigration, and urged Koreans to make their voices heard in Washington.
