Newspaper publisher Conrad Black is set to become a media personality in a way he'd likely never imagined - a TV network is planning to air a film based on his life.
Canada's largest private network, CTV, has announced that it will begin shooting this year on a biographical movie about the Canadian-born newspaper tycoon, "Shades of Black: The Conrad Black Story."

The movie is part of a series on famous and infamous Canadians called "Heroes, Champions and Villains," and is based on a recent biography by Richard Siklos, the New York Post reports.
Canadian Currie Graham, who played Lt. Bale on "NYPD Blue," is reportedly the front-runner for the lead role in the film.
Black once owned the world's third-largest newspaper empire, including the Chicago Sun-Times and hundreds of local papers in the U.S.
His company also once owned a major newspaper chain in Canada. But the conservative Black sold out his holdings as Canada moved increasingly toward socialism. News of the movie will bring glee to Canada's liberal elites who have little love for Black.
Black has been a subject of controversy after losing control of his holding company, Hollinger International, and the new management accused him of taking $300 million from the company to bankroll an extravagant lifestyle.
Black is now facing a securities-fraud lawsuit filed by the Securities and
Exchange Commission.
Fraud charges were recently filed against two of Black's former associates, increasing speculation that Black will ultimately face criminal charges as well.
