Strong Hillary Book Sales Prove N.Y. Times Wrong

The New York Times has egg on its face over its manipulative coverage about the success of Edward Klein's new book, "The Truth About Hillary."

But don't expect it to admit to its bias anytime soon.

Last Sunday the New York Times "Week in Review" reported that sales for Ed Klein's book, "The Truth About Hillary," were dropping dramatically.

"After a strong start, it's sinking," Times reporter Edward Wyatt claimed.

Wyatt then added, "Maybe the truth about Hillary Clinton is not that interesting after all."

Wyatt made the claim though the book immediately hit his paper's best-seller list the first week it debuted - an astonishing feat for a nonfiction book with almost non-existent television coverage.

But now NewsMax.com has learned that Klein's book has made the Times best-seller list for the fourth week in a row - with sales for the last two weeks holding strong and steady.

With almost no big media exposure, "Truth" made its debut on the Times list on July 10, hitting the No. 2 slot.

The next week the controversial Hillary biography commanded the No. 4 slot.

The third week, "Truth" showed up on the July 24 Times list in the No. 8 position.

And next week's list, released this past Wednesday, has the book again at the No. 8 spot.

So, where's the dramatic fall-off the Times speaks of?

Well, that's just spin from America's most liberal newspaper.

And consider that Klein's four weeks on the New York Times best-seller list is twice as long as Washington Post reporter John Harris' highly touted Bill Clinton book, "The Survivor," managed to stay on the Times' list - and Harris received oodles of TV exposure and buckets of favorable ink.

"Survivor," by the way, never rose higher than No. 9 on the Times list.

Still, Timesman Wyatt insisted on Sunday: "Whatever the reason, sales [for Klein's book], which have totaled about 60,000 copies since the book was published in the last week of June, have fallen sharply."

Asked whether "Truth's" four-week presence on the Times best-seller list undercut his claim that sales have collapsed, Wyatt told NewsMax:

"Any book's place on the list in any given week is a reflection of how many books were sold overall in a given week. So sales might have gone up last week. They might not have. I don't know."

One thing the Times does know is that Ed Klein, a former Times editor, has offered America a rather unflattering portrait of Hillary Clinton.

And for that he will be demonized.
