Laura Bush: Next Justice Should Be Female
President Bush has heard from Congress, the media and special interest groups about who they would like to see as the new Supreme Court Justice - and now he's heard from his wife, all the way from South Africa.
First lady Laura Bush told NBC's "Today" show, "I would really like for him to name another woman."

Yesterday, the Democrats leaked some of the names President Bush is considering, and one of them is indeed a woman: Judge Sonia Sotomayor of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals.
The first lady added: "I know that my husband will pick somebody who has a lot of integrity and strength. And whether it's a woman or a man, of course, I have no idea."
The president, when asked about his wife's comments, told the Washington Post: "I talked to her yesterday, and listen, I get her advice all the time. I didn't realize she put this advice in the press. She did? Well, good. We're definitely considering people from all walks of life."
Sotomayor was named a U.S. District judge in 1991 by former President George H.W. Bush, the president's father, and confirmed in August 1992. President Clinton nominated her for a seat on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in 1997, and she was confirmed in 1998.
