Hillary biographer Ed Klein is returning fire against his Vanity Fair old boss, Tina Brown, who trashed the author and his book, "The Truth About Hillary" in her Washington Post column last week.
Calling Klein "Ed Slime," Brown lamented the writer's alleged political metamorphosis:

"Klein used to be a workmanlike scribe with glamour aspirations when he was flat-footing around in the Jackie O crypto-sphere," the literary doyenne recalled, dismayed that he's now become a "sniper in the Republican stage army."
"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that misogyny is a sure boomerang," Brown warned.
The one-time editor for both Newsweek and the New York Times Magazine took exception to his old boss's remarks, blasting back to the New York Post's Page Six:
"Over the past dozen years, [Brown] has had a failed magazine and a failed TV show, and she is now reduced to writing a column for her few remaining friends. Over the same past 12 years, I've had five best-sellers."
Klein recalled that when "Truth" was excerpted in Vanity Fair a few weeks ago, Brown "called to compliment me" and "begged me to give her an early copy of my book and promised to 'shout out' my praises."
In fact, two days before Brown trashed Klein in her own column, she did shout out the "Truth" author's praises.
"I had a great time with Ed at Vanity Fair," she told Salon.com. "He always had fabulous story ideas and had this self-regenerating energy where he would make all his own action."
