Coleen Rowley Eyes Run as Democrat
Coleen Rowley, the FBI whistleblower who was hailed by the media three years ago as a non-partisan critic of the bureau's handling of the war on terror, is eyeing a run for office as a Democrat.
Rowley tells Time magazine that she'll meet this week with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington to discuss how much money it can contribute to the $2 million war chest she expects she'll need in an effort to unseat
Minnesota Republican John Kline.

Rowley, who reportedly first explored the idea of running in 2004, is described as a "conservative Democrat" who objects to Mr. Kline because he supports the Iraq war.
She also doesn't like his "lockstep" support of President Bush's legislative agenda and vows to bring "personal responsibility and authenticity" to Capitol Hill.
Time magazine named the non-partisan FBI critic as one of its three women of the year in 2002.
