Despite all the talk about a Condoleezza Rice vs. Hillary Clinton race, a new poll suggests that most Americans may not want to put a woman in the Oval Office.
A survey conducted last week by pollster Scott Rasmussen found that just 49 percent may want a woman in the White House, according to the New York Post.

Rasmussen asked the question two different ways. First, he asked respondents if they would vote for a woman for president - and 72 percent said yes.
But Rasmussen, reports the Post, followed that question with a second one: "What about your family, friends and co-workers — would most of them be willing to vote for a woman president?"
Just 49 percent said yes.
Pollsters say that, when it comes to difficult or controversial subjects, voters often give the politically correct answer when asked what they'd do. But they are more honest when asked what their friends believe.
"Asking about your family and friends will give a better gauge. The number of people actually willing to vote for a woman may be closer to 49 percent than 72," Rasmussen told the Post.
The gap on voting for a female candidate is true of Democrats, Republicans, men, woman and all ages, according to the survey of 1,000 adults taken Wednesday and Thursday, the Post reported.
The poll raises questions about whether Hillary Clinton, who draws high levels of support in many polls, could face a type of glass ceiling if she runs.
