Cartoonist Blasts Condi's Critics as Racist
A nationally syndicated cartoon strip is blasting critics of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as racists, describing them as "sad bigots" who use language that "would make Bull Connor proud."
"Mallard Fillmore," drawn by Bruce Tinsley and distributed by King Features Syndicate, is read in nearly 400 newspapers nationwide.

In the strip appearing Monday, Dr. Rice is shown composing a letter with the caption:
"From Condoleezza Rice to her critics:
"Thanks for showing your true colors when you questioned my ability in terms employed by sad bigots who think I should show more 'humility.'
"I'm amazed at the big double standard. Why are liberals so often allowed a pass when they toss around language that would make Bull Connor proud?"
Last year, two cartoonists whose strips ran in the Washington Post and the New York Times used anti-black stereotypes to criticize Rice for allegedly parroting Bush policies.
