Army Gives Halliburton 'Excellent' Rating
In the eyes of the American media, officials with the energy services company Halliburton are an evil war profiteers who have hit the "blood for oil" jackpot thanks to their nefarious connection to Vice President Dick Cheney.
But the U.S. Army has a somewhat different opinion, and has just awarded Halliburton top ratings for it reconstruction work in Afghanistan and its logistical support in Kuwait.

Grading the company's performance on 14 task orders - ranging from maintaining bases in Kuwait to repairing the Afghan water system - the U.S. Army Field Support Command gave the embattled defense contractor eight "excellent" ratings and six "very good" scores.
Based on the positive evaluation, Halliburton has been awarded $9.4 million in performance bonuses, according to the Houston Chronicle, which reported on the high scores last week.
A performance evaluation of Halliburton's work in Iraq - where nearly 50 of the company's workers have been killed while trying to supply U.S. forces - has yet to be completed.
But Halliburton spokeswoman Wendy Hall told the Chronicle that the company's average score during recent monthly evaluations of its Iraq work was 90, just one point shy of an overall "excellent" rating.
