Pat Robertson Endorses Harriet Miers

Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson endorsed controversial Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers on Sunday, calling her both "conservative" and "brilliant."

"Harriet Miers is a deep-seated conservative," Robertson told CNN's "Late Edition." "She's a brilliant lawyer."

Noting that Miers headed up a powerhouse law firm in Dallas, Texas, the evangelical leader said: "You don't get to head a law firm of 270 tough fighting litigators without being good. She is very good."

Robertson took aim at some of Miers' critics on the right, telling CNN: "I founded an organization called the American Center for Law and Justice [and] we litigate before the Supreme Court."

Noting that his group had argued cases before the high court at least 12 times, Robertson said:

  "A lot of these conservatives who are doing all this talk don't do that."
