Rep. Flake: No $2M for 'No Flush' Urinal Study

Arizona Republican Rep. Jeff Flake wants to pull the plug on a $2 million federal budget provision to study "no flush” urinal technology.

Rep. Vernon Ehlers (R-Mich.) requested the money for a Navy study of the urinals, and the money was added to the fiscal 2006 Department of Defense Appropriations Act.

Said Rep. Flake: "Talk about flushing taxpayers’ money down the toilet.”

Flake is among House conservatives who have pushed for cuts in federal spending in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
