Liberal Harvard Law professor-turned-Court TV analyst Alan Dershowitz disagreed on Thursday that Harriet Miers was "unqualified" to be on the Supreme Court - by insisting that Justice Clarence Thomas was even less qualified to be on the court.
"[Miers'] withdrawal had nothing to do with her qualifications," Dershowitz told Court TV's "The Catherine Crier Show." "After all, the same Republicans who insist she was not qualified were insisting that the president appoint Clarence Thomas to become chief justice."
Dershowitz slammed the court's lone African-American as "the most unqualified sitting justice in modern history," prompting Crier panelist, radio host Steve Malzberg, to rap the Harvard law man.
"Those remarks smack almost of the racist remarks made by Harry Reid," he interjected, referring to the Nevada Democrat's attempt to characterize Thomas as intellectually inferior earlier this year.

But that only prompted Dershowitz to rachet up his attack.
"Clarence Thomas is the most incompetent, unqualified justice who ever served in my lifetime," Dershowitz proclaimed, adding: "He doesn't read newspapers. He gets his news from Rush Limbaugh."
Replied Malzberg: "He could do a lot worse if that was true, my friend."
