Ex-Hillary Aides Feed 'Commander in Chief'

Another longtime Clintonista has popped up behind the scenes working on ABC's "Commander in Chief."

Capricia Marshall, who was social secretary at the Clinton White House and who - according to Time magazine - helped Hillary "buy everything from hosiery to a house," is a series consultant.

Marshall tells Time she still sees Hillary for lunch or other get-togethers every few weeks - then advises "Commander in Chief" producers on life at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Hillary aide insists that the fictional show starring Geena Davis as the first female president isn't just about entertainment. "It shows that a woman can quite successfully run this country," she tells Time.

Beyond serving as social secretary, the New York Post reports that Marshall worked as Hillary's executive assistant and also worked on Bill Clinton's presidential campaign.

As NewsMax reported three weeks ago, "Commander in Chief" lead writer Steve Cohen is Mrs. Clinton's former communications director.

Cohen denies that he's writing the script for Hillary's future, but he did insist to the Village Voice, "I have no doubt she is capable, qualified, and ready to be the president of the United States should she choose to run."

Like Marshall, Cohen goes way back in Clinton circles, joining Mr. Clinton's first presidential campaign in 1991.

"I was Governor Clinton's first campaign volunteer in 1991, fresh out of college, took that journey to the White House and spent two years working for President Clinton in his press office," he told National Public Radio last year.

A Republican group trying to counter the perception that "Commander in Chief" is all about Hillary has purchased advertising in select TV markets to tout U.S. Secretary of State Condi Rice as a GOP candidate for the White House in 2008.
