New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's slip was showing yesterday, when she inadvertently contradicted months of denials that she hasn't made her mind up to run for president.
Asked on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" - "So you are preparing for 2008?" - Clinton responding without thinking: "I am."
Recognizing the mega-gaffe immediately, the former first lady sought to amend her comments.
"No, no, no," she stammered to DeGeneres. "I am preparing for 2006."

Clinton's leading challenger to her Senate reelection bid, Jeanine Pirro, has made the former first lady's presidential ambitions a key focus of her campaign, telling audiences around the state: "There's only one woman in this race who wants to be your senator - and that's me."
Polls show that while Clinton has a wide lead over Pirro, nearly two-thirds of New Yorkers want her to pledge to serve out a full term, as she did in 2000.
Mrs. Clinton's presidential blooper was reminiscent of a gaffe she uttered in 2001, while addressing the National Press Club.
Asked whether she'd seek the White House in 2004, Clinton responded: "I'm having a great time being pres ..."
As with DeGeneres, she immediately corrected herself and continued, "being a senator from New York."
