Kerry Boasts of Links to Bush-Hating 527 Groups

You'd think John Kerry would be so embarrassed about his hypocrisy on attack ads that he'd show his face in public as seldom as he does in the U.S. Senate. Here's yet another item to add to our exclusive report NewsMax Uncovers Kerry's Ties to Anti-Bush Groups.

Still posted on Kerry's campaign Web site, as of this writing, is a story from the Associated Press dated March 13.

Story Continues Below

The damning paragraphs:

"While Kerry has not been on the air anywhere since locking up the Democratic nomination March 2, two liberal interest groups - the Media Fund and the MoveOn.org Voter Fund - have been, assailing the president and serving as the Democrats' answer to Bush.

"The groups cannot legally coordinate with Kerry, but they can challenge administration policy, an indirect benefit to the Democrat.

"The Media Fund is spending $5 million over the next two weeks, and MoveOn, an online activist group that has been running anti-Bush ads for months, has put up nearly $3 million. Both groups are running moderate levels of commercials in 17 states where Bush is on the air.

"Kerry's buy, too, is moderate and limited to media markets that polling shows are competitive. But when his buy is combined with those from the Media Fund and MoveOn, the Democratic message saturates the airwaves in some places.

"However, assistance from the outside groups could backfire because Kerry advisers and party officials can't coordinate with them."

Can't, but do anyway.

As the reader from New York who sent us this tip noted, "Why would Kerry's campaign reprint this article if not to say that they are leveraging ads from Moveon.org and the Media Fund?

"Their double standards are unbelievable."
