Swiftvet Co-Author: Media Slimed Me

Jerome Corsi, co-author of the hottest book in the country right now, "Unfit for Command," was trashed by the big media as an anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic bigot even before the book was released.

But the same reporters who smeared Corsi based on a few brief comments posted to the web site FreeRepublic.com forgot to mention that he's a Catholic himself who once tried to create a fund for Israel.

The bestselling author apologized at the time if his cyber comments had offended anyone, but said Monday said his comments had been taken out of context, and were meant as satire that was designed to provoke a response.

"How could I be anti-Catholic if I'm Catholic myself," he told NewsMax.com. "My eight-year-old daughter just made her First Communion."

Corsi says the anti-Semitism charge is just as unfair.

"I did some major, major projects for B'nai Brith. I created two mutual funds in the state of Israel to bring investment into the country."

The first project was run through Bankers Trust, the second through New England Securities, he explained - and were dedicated to Israel and co-sponsored by B'nai Brith.

"I'm Catholic and I'm a longtime supporter of Jewish causes," Corsi added. "Can you blame me for getting tired of hearing I'm anti-Catholic and anti-Semitic?"
