Carville: Dems Should Adopt Teresa's 'Shove it!' Theme

Democrats are going so far overboard trying to defend Teresa Heinz Kerry's "shove it!" altercation with a hometown reporter that some are now recommending her husband adopt it as a convention theme.

Asked Tuesday how badly he wants to see John Kerry defeat President Bush, Democratic Party pit bull James Carville told radio host Don Imus:

"As Dick Cheney would say, big-time. Real big-time. I want a 'shove it' in there, man. They can shove the whole thing."

Carville said he thought complaints about Heinz Kerry's blast were "overblown."

On Monday Hillary Clinton chimed in on Shove-it-gate, giving Teresa a "you-go-girl" high-five during a morning TV interview.

But while Democrats are full of praise for Teresa's outburst, none have so far defended her decision to deny her own tape-recorded remarks, where she complained about "sometimes un-American traits that are coming into some of our politics."

Moments later, when asked what she meant by "un-American," Heinz Kerry flatly fibbed, saying she never used the word - then told Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporter Colin McNickle to "shove it!"

Tuesday morning, papers across America carried pictures of the seething would-be first lady, jabbing her finger at McNickle as she spits out her response.
