Kerry Praises Reagan; Ron Reagan Bashes 'Shameful' Bush
World upside down: The Senate's biggest left-winger is praising conservative icon Ronald Reagan even as Reagan's younger son steps up his attacks on President Bush.
"Ever since Ronald Reagan's death earlier this month, White House aspirant John Kerry has been honoring the conservative icon even before the most partisan Democratic audiences," the Associated Press reported.

Examples of how Kerry is trying to exploit the memory of his ideological opposite:
Kerry at a fund-raiser Monday in trendy Aspen, Colo.: "Leadership is lacking that asks people to come to the White House and sit for hours, as we used to with a Ronald Reagan, with George Herbert Walker Bush, with Bill Clinton, working at trying to find real solutions. But not with these folks [in the Bush administration]. It's 'my way or the highway'."
At a fund-raiser Wednesday in San Francisco, of all places: "God rest his soul, we loved him for his strength and many things."
At a fund-raiser Wednesday in San Jose, Calif., he used one of Reagan's favorite quotations, America as "a shining city on a
hill," and said the phrase was coined by the first governor of
Massachusetts, John Winthrop, who "happens to be an ancestor
of mine."
During a speech Wednesday to a booing government union: "We just lost a president who helped us to win the Cold War, to
provide us the continued peace and prosperity we had all those
years."
During a speech Monday in Denver: "As America said goodbye to Ronald Reagan we also honored the devotion and love of his wife, Nancy. Her pleas for stem cell research joined the pleas
of millions across this country and reinforces in all of us the
need to tear down every wall today that keeps us from finding the
cures of tomorrow."
Of course, Kerry can't do anything without flip-flopping and trying to take both sides of an issue. The Boston Globe reported today that during the speech in San Francisco, Kerry attacked Reagan's fiscal record in his "first broadside against the former president since his death June 5."
As NewsMax has reported, Kerry used to complain that Reagan was tough on terrorists and boasted, "I'm proud that I stood against Ronald Reagan."
'We Lied'
Meanwhile, here's the latest from Ron Reagan:
"We lied our way into the war," he said on CNN's "Larry King Live" last night. "It's a terrible mistake, a terrible foreign policy error."
He attacked Bush's opposition to taxpayer-funded research that destroys human embryos.
"It's shameful," he said. "We're not talking about fetuses,
human beings being killed. We're talking about collections of cells in a petri dish that are never ever going to be a human being."
He said his mother, Nancy, was doing "pretty well."
"I've got to hand it to her. She's 83 years old. She doesn't
get around as well as she used to, a little glaucoma," he said.
But "She's a professional."
Considering all the misinformation being spread about stem cell research, AP's recent report, Stem Cells Not the Priority for Alzheimer's, is a must-read.
