Gadhafi Threatens to Bomb 'Evil' West

Now that the Bush administration and European leaders have made nice with Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, he has ended his first trip to the West in 15 years by threatening to return to the days of "explosive belts" if provoked by Western "evil."

The testy tyrant, visiting Brussels today, complained that President Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair had launched war in Iraq even after some citizens expressed opposition. Apparently expecting free nations to have the sort of unanimity a dictator receives from a nation of yes men, he called this a failure of "democracy."

"It's important that Europe raises its voice about the tragedy in Iraq," Gadhafi said.

"We hope that we shall not be obliged or forced one day to go back to those days when we bombed our cars or put explosive belts around our beds and around our women so that we will not be searched and not be harassed in our bedrooms and in our homes, as it is taking place now in Iraq and in Palestine."

UPI reported that the cranky colonel "caused shivers in the European Union with remarks he could once again take up terrorist causes."
