Bush Haters Refuse Clarke's Request to Stop the Exploitation

It's OK for Richard Clarke to cash in on his newfound opposition to President Bush, but he doesn't want anyone else to.

"I just don't want to be used," Clarke moaned today after the Bush-hating pro-Kerry group MoveOn.org Voter Fund refused his request to yank an ad in which he unwittingly stars.

The commercial quotes Clarke from his promotional appearance on CBS's "60 Minutes" claiming that President Bush "ignored terrorism for months when maybe we could have done something to stop 9/11."

(In his testimony before the 9/11 commission, Clarke admitted the terrorist attacks would not have been prevented even if the White House had done everything he wanted.)

He fumed to the Associated Press today, "The point is not whether they're acting illegally, but I certainly want everyone to understand they are acting without my permission and distorting my message."
