Darn: MSNBC Changes 'Sadism Hussein' Back to 'Saddam'
We had a song in our heart yesterday when we saw that the gang over at MSNBC's Web site, in their wire story about dicey Democrat du jour Susan Lindauer, referred to Iraq's former dictator as "Sadism Hussein."
How fun that another Web site could also report the news in an unorthodox way with a dash of humor.
But we suspected the good times would end today, and sure enough, MSNBC's latest story on Lindauer refers to "Saddam."
We tried the site's search engine, which didn't yield any results under "Sadism Hussein." No luck either when we searched our Associated Press feed and Google.
Too bad. Coulda caught on.
Last year one reader urged us to call the toppled tyrant "So Damn Insane," but AP doesn't like us to change its copy.
Here's hoping the media establishment will all start referring to Sadism Hussein. And why not replace all references to Joseph Stalin with "Ed Asner's favorite genocidal maniac"? A few other suggestions:
Infidel Castro.
Farm-stealing Zimbabwean dictator Rob-All Mugabe.
North Korean madman Kim Long-Ill.
And, for good measure, John "F." Scary.
