Gore Claims Bush 'Betrayed' U.S. With Clintonoid Policy

Even though Howard Dean has admitted that the endorsement from Al Gore was the kiss of death, the Democrats' previous failed presidential nominee continues to help President Bush by hurling wild charges.

"He betrayed this country!" Gore shrieked in a red-faced Dean-like frenzy at a rally of Democrats on Sunday in Tennessee, the home state that rejected him in 2000.

"He played on our fears! He took America on an ill-conceived foreign adventure dangerous to our troops, an adventure pre-ordained and planned before 9/11 ever took place!"

Gore failed to note that U.S. plans to topple Saddam originated in the Clinton-Gore administration.

The former veep made an observation likely to haunt him during what's left of his career: "It is not a minor matter to take the loyalty and deep patriotic feelings of the American people and trifle with them." Then he screamed, "The truth shall rise again!"

Indeed.
