Remember when left-wingers ridiculed Vice President Dan Quayle for criticizing Hollywood's glamorous portrayal of out-of-wedlock motherhood on "Murphy Brown"? Now Sen. Hillary Clinton is picking a fight with another fictional TV character.
Clinton, D-N.Y., and Rep. John McHugh, R-N.Y., fired off a letter Thursday to fake Deputy White House Chief of Staff Joshua Lyman, portrayed by Bradley Whitford on NBC's Democrat fantasy series "The West Wing."
"Dear Josh," begins the letter to the nonexistent person.
Like most Americans, we don't watch "The West Wing," but according to the Associated Press the episode Wednesday suggested that Fort Drum in northern New York might be shuttered.
"We want to make sure that such a recommendation doesn't make
it into another West Wing scene. It is important that all White House advisors have the most
current information to respond to such flawed proposals," the porky pols' letter says.
"We are willing to meet with you directly to address any other
concerns that you may have," the pair wrote, before thanking
another fictional person on the show for "trying to save Social
Security" in a previous episode.
