Daschle Proud of 'Saving Lives'
Outgoing Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., said on Wednesday that the high point of his political career was saving people's lives.
"I think the proudest moment are those times when I actually had people come up to me and [say], "You saved my life," "You changed my life," he told NBC's "Today" show.

The top Democrat opted not to reveal the details of his life-saving exploits - nor was he asked by interviewer Jamie Gangel.
But Daschle did take the opportunity to bash Republicans for painting his party as out of touch during the presidential campaign.
"I think it was a very nasty, vindictive, negative campaign that worked in their case," he told Gangel. "I think that's unfortunate."
Asked if he blamed President Bush for the loss of his job, Daschle did his best to sound magnanimous. "No, not at all," he told NBC.
