Bush Campaign Questions Florida Exit Polls
Bush campaign manager Ken Mehlman is questioning the accuracy of media exit polls showing Kerry tied or slightly ahead in Florida.
Mehlman said that Bush was doing far better in the I-4 corridor and Pasco County, noting that "in the 2000 campaign we had 48 percent of the vote. We're now in the mid-50s there with 72 percent of the precincts reporting."

Mehlman told the Fox News Channel, "Orange County, in the 2000 campaign, was seen as a bellwether. We lost it in 2000. Tonight we're winning it, in the mid-50s again."
In the heavily Democratic area of Gainsville, Mehlman said, "last time we got 39 percent of the vote. This time we're getting 48 percent of the vote."
"We're doing better in Florida, better in the swing areas, even better in the Democratic areas, than we did in 2000," he said.
