Veep contender John Edwards today made a fool of himself by yet again accusing other people of his own favorite vice: not going to work.

As we noted yesterday, Edwards, like running mate John Kerry, keeps taking a paycheck from taxpayers but seldom shows up for his job at the U.S. Senate. But today he once more attacked Condoleezza Rice and other officials in the Bush administration for leaving the District of Columbia.
"There's a problem when our troops are in harm's way, fighting for a secure Iraq, and our national security adviser is out on the stump campaigning instead of working," stated the Democrat airhead apparent.
"It is a problem when the head of Homeland Security is out campaigning in battleground states," he grumbled today in Muscatine, Iowa.
We expect Kerry will now muzzle the freshman senator, however, because this afternoon the Republican National Committee released a lengthy list of campaign appearances made by Bill Clinton's Cabinet members:
Secretary of State Warren Christopher, Attorney General Janet Reno, Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt (who campaigned for Kerry in 1996), Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman, Secretary of Commerce Mickey Kantor, Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Henry Cisneros, Secretary of Transportation Federico Pena, Secretary of Energy Hazel O'Leary, Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala, Secretary of Education Richard Riley and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jesse Brown.
