'KKK' Byrd's Attack on Martin Luther King Jr.

In reviewing the documentary "Citizen King," the Wall Street Journal's formidable Dorothy Rabinowitz refers to the inclusion of footage from 1968 featuring Democrat Sen. Robert "KKK" Robert Byrd.

And what did America's most famous former Klansman make of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.? About what you'd expect.

The film clip shows Byrd urging "well-meaning Negro leaders" to reconsider King, "who was, he explained, a coward who got other people into trouble."

It sure is a good thing for Byrd, though not America, that he's a Democrat. A Republican would have been destroyed decades ago for his countless idiotic comments.
