It looks as if Democrat Sen. Robert "KKK" Byrd will have a tough time deciding whether to endorse Dick Gephardt or Howard Dean: Dean is finally being forced to admit that during his six terms as governor of Vermont he had never named a black or Hispanic to his Cabinet.
"It seems as though you discovered blacks and browns during this campaign," Sharpton chided the Park Avenue Vermonter on Sunday during the two-hour Brown and Black Forum, the last debate before next week's Iowa presidential caucus.
"If you want to lecture people on race, you want to have the background and track record in order to do that."
Back of the Bus, or up on the 5th Floor
Saying he had "a senior member of my staff on my fifth floor," Dean at first issued one of his many short-lived lies after Sharpton noted the guv had never had a Hispanic or black Cabinet member.
Sharpton reminded Dean he was talking about the Cabinet.
"No, we did not," Dean admitted to Sharpton.
The other black who has zero chance of winning the Democrat nomination, Carol Moseley Braun, apparently had watched Fox News Channel's report reiterating NewsMax.com's exposé of Gephardt's racist past, because she directed her venom at him when he bragged about supporting nonwhites. "To hear you tonight talk about that is a little shocking to me," she said.
