Vegas Line: Arnold the Favorite, Barely
While it's a safe bet California Gov. Gray Davis will be recalled, Las Vegas oddsmakers are giving Arnold Schwarzenegger a slim edge over his rivals toward winning the Oct. 7 recall election.
Current odds have Schwarzenegger as a 7-5 pick to win.
But Democrat Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante is close as an 8-5 favorite.
And who are the come-from-behind sleeper candidates?
Former baseball commissioner Peter Ueberroth is the most significant threat to the front-runners, with 12-1 odds.
Conservative businessman Bill Simon follows with 20-1.
Both Arianna Huffington and Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock are way behind at 40-1.
