Lieberman: Gore Call Too Late
Former Vice President Al Gore finally telephoned his former running mate, Joe Lieberman, on Tuesday to let him know he was endorsing Howard Dean 24 hours after Lieberman learned from the media about Gore's decision.
"Gore called him today after the fact," MSNBC's Craig Crawford told ABC Radio network hosts John Batchelor and Paul Alexander. "Lieberman said [the call] lasted four or five minutes and it was too late."
Asked Batchelor, "I noted in the photograph I saw from Lieberman's press conference today that he'd taken his jacket off. Was that to show that there was no knife or that the knife had been removed?"
Asked about her father's reaction to Gore's surprise move, Lieberman's daughter Rebecca told CNN: "He's not happy. I wouldn't say he's happy about it."
