Bill Clinton took a bus to visit the Taj Mahal, but had to walk back to his hotel.
It seems the steering on his fast-moving bus failed, but the driver was able to halt the environmentally friendly bus without incident.
A later investigation of the incident involving Clinton found that a bolt holding the steering in place had broken off, causing the steering to freewheel.
The former president, upon hearing there was no the bus available for him, decided not to make any demands, and chose to hoof it back to the Amar Vilas Hotel.
The battery-operated bus, meant specially for the visits of dignitaries, apparently has also failed other VIPs, including the former President of India, K R Narayanan, and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf - after whose visit the bus was supposedly "overhauled."
India's supreme court has banned all "polluting" vehicles near the Taj Mahal, and the buses are specially made for travel near the 17th century wonder of the world.
Other VIPs have complained to Idia's Agra Development Authority, which maintains the buses, but Clinton made no comments.
