Alec Baldwin in 'Racist' Movie

It isn't pretty when left-wingers get caught in the P.C. snares they set for regular folks. Hollywood hatemonger Alec Baldwin stands accused of co-starring in a racist movie.

In the widely panned "The Cat in the Hat," frets America's most politically correct newspaper, USA Today, it's "a source of concern for some" that "the ineffectual babysitter is Asian in a movie with a largely white cast."

A separate review in the paper worries that the sitter "unfortunately is the movie's only major character of color. She's also a clueless, narcoleptic sycophant."

'Breathtakingly Racist'

The Boston Globe says the character is a "breathtakingly racist caricature."

The New York Times complains that the pic contains "nasty ethnic insult humor."

Apparently the only solution is to bleach all villains and buffoons in movies and on TV and thus worsen the Hollywood left's miserable record of employing non-white actors. Witness how Tinseltown turned the Arab terrorists of Tom Clancy's "The Sum of All Fears" into white right-wingers. Even after 9/11, Hollywood just couldn't picture Arab terrorists, doncha know.

So why didn't the oleaginously coiffed Baldwin, famous less for his fading career than for urging Clinton fanatics to stone U.S. Rep. Henry Hyde and murder the congressman's family, do the politically correct thing and give up his role in "The Cat in the Hat" to an actor "of color"? Oh, that's right: Lefties believe in what they call "affirmative action" only when it takes jobs away from other whites, not themselves.

But it looks as if the role would have to be played by one of those awful white men anyway. In "Cat," according to USA Today, Baldwin is "a belching, beer-swilling, phony do-nothing who masquerades as a sensitive and hard-working guy."

Wait, is that Baldwin or the character he plays?
