Mystery Submarine Impounded by NYPD

A mystery makeshift mini-submarine has been impounded by the NYPD off the Brooklyn Coast in the East River.

The sub, seemingly enough to seat two-three men and complete with oxygen tanks, was first spotted by pedestrians at 10:30am Friday morning on the waterfront.

Police were notified and arrived on the scene minutes later.

What the NYPD found were two-men in a rubber boat and a third preparing to submerge in a make-shift sub that appeared similar to an oval-shaped diving bell.

It all happened in what the NYPD has labeled "a security zone."

That zone included the berth for Cunard's Queen Mary 2 which was only yards from the security breach.

NYPD sources say three men have been taken in for questioning.

Meanwhile, police sources also tell NewsMax that officers who have entered the sub have not found anything that might pose a security threat ... yet.

NYPD sources tell NewsMax that the three men will be charged on various violations and arraigned later today.

No other details are available.
