One Reporter's Opinion — We Are Ruled by 'Stealth Government'
George Putnam
Thursday, May 24, 2007

It is this reporter's opinion that we are witnessing the undermining of our Constitution and our accepted government procedures by a new maneuver: "stealth government."

The president and his New World globalist cronies, through national emergencies and other means, ram their ideology down our throats without congressional approval or oversight.

This procedure became obvious in George W. Bush's determination to invade Iraq.

Those closest to Bush label the president "obsessive, arrogant, bullheaded, stubborn, and inflexible." They remind us that Bush has labeled himself "the great decider."

Then another stealth maneuver brought about the proposed North American Union (NAU) in which Bush, Mexico's President Vicente Fox, and Canada's Prime Minister Paul Martin, held their series of secret meetings aimed at putting the three nations under one confederation, eventually eliminating the sovereignty and borders of the three.

Next in the stealth lineup was the proposed Senate Bill 2611 for immigration reform with its sellout of America.

Story Continues Below

It fell on its face when the public realized its disastrous intent to open the doors to millions of third-world impoverished from around the world.

Bush's group was aided by Sens. Ted Kennedy, D–Mass., John McCain, R–Ariz., Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D–Ill., and Jeff Flake, R–Ariz., and the same one world crowd that bought a rewrite of 2611 in Senate Bill 1348.

The American people saw the Senate bill as a disaster.

The people have spoken; are you listening Mr. President?

In the words of Newt Gingrich, it is a failure to be defeated, to cease to exist. Said Gingrich, "Produce an immigration bill through the regular committee process; let the people look at your proposals. Trust the people to make the right decision."

But, no. Even before the measure had been written the senators were asked to ram it through even before any of them had read it. Another example of stealth government.

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R–Colo., says he is now convinced that the president's true objective is the absorption of the United States into a borderless North American Union with Canada and Mexico. And that, he says, is why Bush has done nothing to secure our borders, why he seeks to grant amnesty to millions of illegals, why they are building a massive NAFTA Superhighway to speed foreign goods and labor into the heart of America and into Canada.

But hold on. There's more to come!

Bush is now about to announce he will breathe new life into the old United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, rejected by President Ronald Reagan in 1982.

How about the border fence? Eight hundred fifty-four miles have been approved. But only two miles have actually been constructed.

And now on the heels of all this, President Bush has signed a directive granting extraordinary powers to the office of the president in the event of a declared national emergency, apparently without Congressional approval or oversight.

Under this directive, the president could assume the power to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over.

These are just a few of the stealth government maneuvers of a lame duck president.

Obviously we face a vacuum in leadership — e pluribus unum — out of the many we need one!

Where is the one?

Now, more than ever, we need a great leader for America!
